Orthodontics in our practice in Frankfurt am Main. The process from diagnosis to treatment.
Comprehensive advice on the wide range of treatment options.

Individual diagnostics and plan discussion.

You have decided to undergo orthodontic treatment. We will now make a detailed analysis of the jaw and teeth misalignment. If there are any physical complaints, we check whether they are related to the dental anomaly. In doing so, we document the status of the teeth and incorporate the results into the dental appliance. Based on these findings, we make the diagnosis and an individual treatment plan. The treatment plan is written. It specifies the methods used and the cost of the treatment.

Treatment costs will only be covered by your health insurance if you submit the treatment plan to your health insurance company before starting treatment. After checking and confirming that the costs are covered, we can start treatment. Adults must bear the treatment costs themselves in most cases.

Initial examination:
Anamnesis, analysis and consultation.

Orthodontic treatment begins with the initial examination.

We take our time and get a picture of the initial situation. We examine the health of the teeth and gums. In children, we also determine the development of the teeth. This progresses according to phases and determines when treatment should begin in children. The core of the initial examination is the analysis of the jaw and teeth malocclusion. We determine both the type of malocclusion and the degree of the anomaly. It is important for us to get a holistic picture. If physical complaints are present, we investigate whether there is a connection between malocclusion and complaints and include the result in the therapeutic measures. When all decisive aspects have been included in the anamnesis and analysis, we discuss with you what your goals and wishes are and give you our treatment recommendation.

The initial examination does not commit you to treatment, but serves as an orientation. If you decide to undergo orthodontic treatment, the detailed analysis, diagnosis and planning will follow.

Start of treatment and active treatment time.

The treatment plan is the guideline for orthodontic treatment.

First, the braces are inserted. Then we monitor the progress made throughout the treatment period. This phase is the active treatment period. The duration is individual from patient to patient and can be 3 years or only 1 year.

During this time, we regularly examine the progress of treatment and adjust the orthodontic measures to the changing structure of the dentition.

We accompany our patients from the initial consultation to the completion of treatment.

In order for us to achieve the best possible treatment success together, we would like to ask you to schedule regular check-ups and treatment appointments at intervals of 4 to 8 weeks, even after the braces have been fitted. It is important to attend these consistently.

This is how we achieve our common goal:

Healthy, straight teeth and a bright smile.

Retainers can be removable dental aligners.
This is a permanent retainer that is fixed behind the teeth.
A retainer can also be a removable brace.

    The retention time.
This is the treatment after the treatment.

The retention phase is an important phase that begins after active orthodontic treatment. This phase is about maintaining the achieved results and stabilizing them in the long term.

During treatment, the teeth and jaws have been moved into the desired position, but they tend to return to their original position if appropriate measures are not taken.

    .

During the retention phase, retention appliances are usually used to keep the teeth stable. These can be removable devices such as retainers or fixed devices such as thin wires behind the teeth. These appliances are custom made for you to provide enough support for your teeth while allowing for normal dental hygiene.

    .

The retention phase can last several months or even years, depending on the individual case. During this time, it is important to keep regular follow-up visits with your orthodontist to monitor progress and make any adjustments.
